Eligibility

*All residents of Colorado age 12 or older are now eligible to receive the vaccine starting May 2021.*

Phase 1A

  • Individuals with DIRECT contact with COVID-19 patients for >15 minutes over 24-hr period
  • Long-term facility staff and residents

Phase 1B.1

  • People 70 years of age and older
  • Health care workers with less direct contact with infected patients
  • Home health
  • Hospice
  • Pharmacy
  • Dental
  • EMS
  • Firefighters, police, COVID response personnel, correctional workers, funeral services

Phase 1B.2 

  • Childcare workers in licensed child care programs, teachers, bus, food, counselors, administrators, safety, and other support services inside school
  • Members of Executive and Judicial branches of state government
  • Ages 65-69

Phase 1B.3

  • Ages 60 and older
  • Frontline workers in grocery and agriculture
  • People age 16-59 with 2 or more high risk conditions including the following:
    • cancer (current treatment or within last month)
    • chronic kidney disease
    • COPD
    • diabetes mellitus
    • Down syndrome
    • heart conditions (heart failure, cardiomyopathy, coronary artery disease, severe valvular/congenital heart disease)
    • obesity (BMI>30 kg/m^2)
    • pregnancy
    • sickle cell disease
    • solid organ transplant
    • people with disabilities that prevent them from wearing masks

Phase 1B.4 (upcoming – 03/19/21)

  • Frontline workers:
    • Higher education
    • Food/restaurant services
    • Manufacturing
    • USPS
    • Public transit/specialized transportation
    • Public health
    • Human service workers
    • Faith leaders
    • Direct care providers for those experiencing homelessness
    • Journalists
  • Continuity of local government (i.e. state and count court trial judges, court administrators, public defenders, and probation staff).
  • Continuation of operations for state government 
  • Age 16-49 one of the following higher risk conditions: 
    • one condition listed in 1B.3 or asthma (moderate-to-severe), Cerebrovascular disease (affects blood vessels and blood supply to the brain), Cystic fibrosis, Hypertension or high blood pressure, Immunocompromised state (weakened immune system) from blood or bone marrow transplant, immune deficiencies, HIV, use of corticosteroids, or use of other immune weakening medicines, Neurologic conditions, such as dementia, Liver disease, Pulmonary fibrosis (having damaged or scarred lung tissues), Thalassemia (a type of blood disorder). 
  • Adults who received a placebo during a COVID-19 vaccine clinical trial.

      • Denver Health is currently working to contact and make appointments with patients age 70 and over who currently receive care at a Denver Health facility or have received care in the past three years. 
      • Invitations are now being sent by MyChart to schedule these vaccinations. 
      • Tickets to schedule COVID-19 vaccinations for patients 70 or over are being generated in a phased fashion. 
      • Find instructions to create a MyChart account at Denver Health’s website.
    • SCL Health
      • SCL Health is currently contacting patients age 70 and older who are currently receiving care at a SCL Health facility. 
      • Information is being emailed to these patients guiding them to use the MyChart online patient portal to make a vaccination appointment. 
      • Create an SCL Health MyChart account and schedule an appointment if you are eligible and one is available or download the SCL Health MyChart app.
      • An appointment is REQUIRED to receive the COVID-19 vaccine at a SCL Health facility — walk-up vaccinations ARE NOT available.
